The Sodor United football team are going to have a match against the Barrow football team, and The Fat Controller is going to be the referee. Thomas and James is supposed to work together by collecting passengers for the match, but end up racing each other instead. James forgets the Barrow football team at Brendam Docks, and Thomas forgets to pick up the Fat Controller.
