The missions in this are probably the most lackluster a Lego game has been. They are quite simplistic and repetitive, with about 5 of the 15 featuring the same enemy. However, there are a greater selection of heroes to use, with Superman coming into the game fairly early, and late on into the missions others are available to use such as the Green Lantern and Wonder Woman.
There are a number of new features. Unless the recent Harry Potter Lego games have had talking characters, this is the first Lego game to have characters with voices during the cut scenes, and it works well with many of the cut-scenes being very humorous, mainly due to the banter between Batman and Superman. Kind of like GTA, away from the missions there is an open world to explore and master to complete the game 100% by collecting all of the hidden Lego bricks as well that was missing from the previous Lego Batman adventure.
