The two mines used were Levant and Botallack Mines, St Just. Other locations included St Agnes Head, St Agnes - Predannack Wollas, The Lizard - Porthcurno - Park Head, near Porthcothan - Holywell - Gunwalloe, Helston - Chapel Porth, St Agnes.
Two locations used were Boconnoc and Lostwithiel, which are about eight miles from Bodmin.
Filming took place in the real Jamaica Inn in Bolventor, Bodmin Moor.

Three locations used were Port Eliot, St Germans - Boconnoc - Pentille Castle, Paynters Cross.
The harbour is Portloe and the village St Mawes.
Location shooting took place around Polkerris, Mevagissey, Polperro and Chapel Porth.
Exteriors were filmed in Cadgwith, Helston, St. Ives and Prussia Cove.
The film's exterior sequences were shot in the Cornish fishing port of Mevagissey.
The Headland Hotel used is situated on the coast in Newquay.
The town with the harbour is Looe.
