Cinco de Mayo: The Battle is a 2013 Mexican film written and directed by Rafa Lara, the film is based on the war events that took place on May 5, 1862 in Puebla, Mexico; it stars Kuno Becker (as Ignacio Zaragoza), Javier Oliván ,Christian Vázquez, Pablo Abitia and Liz Gallardo. The film was released in Mexico and the U.S. on May 3, 2013. The film cost 80 million Mexican pesos (approximately US$6 million), a historic figure in Mexican cinema, making it one of the most expensive Mexican films to date.
