A bored and domesticated Shrek pacts with deal-maker Rumpelstiltskin to get back to feeling like a real ogre again, but when he's duped and sent to a twisted version of Far Far Away—where Rumpelstiltskin is king, ogres are hunted, and he and Fiona have never met—he sets out to restore his world and reclaim his true love.
It is funny, but too adult. It gave two of my buddies nightmares and it really get me up at night. It is loved by some people I know, and I can see why.
I was never a fan of changed timelines and things like that. I think the kids could use some sophistication, but not like time space continuum loopy loops.
I rest my case.
Wtf is Cookie... how did Craig Robinson combined with Shrek turn out so badly?
The Pied Piper scene is horrible. It’s cringe. It’s not funny. It’s not cute. It’s not hip and modern. It just bad. Which is a shame, because his character design and his basic premise is actually really threatening, and if the movie reframed it as such it would’ve been real good.
Apart from those two, the movie’s great. Rumpel is a great villain, the whole dystopia idea is fantastic, fat Thor is great, and thematically it’s deep and fantastic.
