Maja Kutrevac was born in 1980 in Zagreb. She has got master’s degree in early childhood education and care and works as a kindergarten teacher. Her passion for writing began in her childhood, as she delved into creative forms of expression for the first time. As most children do, she lived through vulnerable periods of growing up while finding solace in writing inspired by various “injustices.” She draws her inspiration from issues that are problematic in the lives of preschoolers and their parents while providing some subtle solutions by employing stories as the most powerful medium through which children can learn about themselves and their self-worth. Aware of therapeutic and beneficial effects of stories on children's development, she writes and creates stories that help children deal with different types of problems more easily (fears, loss of loved ones, physical flaws, health problems, etc.).
