Amanda Hess is an American journalist. She is a critic-at-large for the New York Times who has also written for magazines including Wired, ESPN, and Elle. Anna invited Amanda on the podcast to discuss her piece Celebrity Culture Is Burning in the New York Times. They discuss the role celebrities play in the current COVID-19 pandemic and how they might be hurting or helping. Plus, Anna and Amanda are joined by Anna's brother Bob Faris who is a Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Davis.
