Thunderous (소리꾼 sorikkun) is a song recorded by South Korean boy group Stray Kids. It is the second and title track from their second studio album NOEASY.
COMPOSITION:
"Stray Kids, the true singers who came in the clouds to defeat the naggers! We wanted to show that we have the courage to shout out our own voices to those who constantly nag us. The song is characterized by a combination of strong rapping, magnificent breath sounds, and colorful traditional Korean sounds. I think it's a song that lets Stray Kids' unique sound be known to the world once again."
MEDIA EVALUATION:
While last year saw Stray Kids' artistic breakthrough with some of 2020's best K-pop albums and songs, “Thunderous” brought the formula to a new level. Opening with the mystifyingly fast rap stylings from rappers Changbin and HAN that have become a signature style for SKZ, “Thunderous” seamlessly segues to a sleek, trumpeting chorus. Stray Kids know how all the pieces of their puzzle work together, allowing them to successfully experiment with the hip-hop/pop hybrid that has made them an international leader among boy bands. – J.B.
