After working in Berlin for years, chief public prosecutor Bernd Reuther returns to Hesse and from then on investigates among the black sheep of Wiesbaden society. Even today, he is still plagued by the memory of a car accident he caused in which a woman died a few years ago and Reuther's own wife was seriously injured. In his investigations he is supported by Commissioner Kerstin Klar and Chief Commissioner Christian Schubert, Dr. Cornelia Engel and senior public prosecutor Silvia Heinlein.
