The focus of the German adaptation of a Dutch hit sitcom is single mother Hannah, who takes her daughter to the new elementary school. In her everyday life she has to deal with all sorts of weird characters who are as obtrusive as little parasites: annoying parents, a bizarre headmaster and his rest of the cranky staff, especially the extremely idiosyncratic class teacher - and right in the middle: completely normal children. Parents' council chair Doris quickly explains the hierarchy of parenting jobs at the new school to the psychologist.
As a "newbie", Hannah has to start from the bottom: her job is to check all the children for lice after the holidays.
