SYNOPSIS:
India's first ever Science fiction serial was premiered on DD National in 1989 and immediately became a super duper hit. Though targeted at children between the age group of 9 and 13 but it became an all family favorite and delivered the no.2 position on TRP charts second only to Mahabharat with star cast consisting of actors like Girish karnad, Deepa Lagoo, Ashutosh Gowariker, Urmila Matondkar Sushma Prakash, Sarla Devi, Sridevi Mukhee. It launched several child actors like Karan Johar, Vishal Singh, Akshay Anand, Sagar Arya, Ameesha Jhaveri and Jitendra Rajpal who all went on to become superstars of television and also worked in films.
The show has been compared to Stranger Things of Netflix (2018-19) even though it was made 30 years ago. It introduced the concepts of cloning, time travel, space travel, DNA Crystallization, androids and future galactic wars to Indian audiences.
STORY LINE:
Thirteen-year-old Appuswamy Krishnamurthy’s (Jitendra Rajpal) falling grades in Ninth standard are a major concern for his mother Ishwari (Deepa Lagoo) who attributes this to "Buri Nazar". Little does she know that her brilliant son Appu, is assembling a homemade computer along with the help of three of his school mates in the seldom neglected go-down of their school.
Not only does he succeed in making the computer but it comes alive and starts talking to them - Courtesy the Prince of Andromeda Galaxy who has fled from there due to a revolt in his galaxy. He has hidden himself in Appu's computer by converting himself into matter.
Not convinced of Appu's boasts, his classmate Preeti wants to check the talking computer herself. The computer sends them into past creating panic in the Swamy household.
It falls upon Appu's elder brother Bala (Akshay Anand) to go back into past and bring the kids back.
Bala travels to 1945 and is shocked to witness Appu being kidnapped by an Android from Andrmeda Galaxy right in front of his eyes.
Bala goes into the future with the help of the computer to meet his doppelganger who holds the key to bring Appu back alive. Do you think Bala will succeed?
Though released 31 years back, the show is still relevant in today's time.
