A screen adaptation of Alexandra Marinina's novels about police major Anastasia Pavlovna Kamenskaya. To show the life of many, many people, into whose measured everyday life the heavy and terrible theme of increasing crime suddenly bursts into a whirlwind. The problem of choice for a person who, by the will of circumstances, found himself at the junction of the familiar and criminal worlds, is what worries the writer and the filmmakers in the first place.
