"Die Stadt und die Macht" is a six-part mini series - an emotional family drama, an exciting political thriller and the moral image of the German capital. At the center of the plot is the committed lawyer Susanne Kröhmer. She is currently planning her private future and wants to start a family with her partner. There she got the chance to become mayoral candidate of Berlin. Susanne prepares to take on the powerful in the city, but she comes into conflict with her own father, who, as the conservative faction leader, is linked to the governing mayor Degenhardt through dark machinations. Susanne - supported by her childhood friend, the journalist Alex - has to undertake a journey into her own past in order to track down her father's crime. In doing so, she realizes that campaign values ​​such as transparency and honesty are not so easy to defend in the political arena that she has entered.
