I've always been a fan of Norwegian, Swedish & other European Death Metal/Black Metal bands. I've always been a fan of the Norwegian Black Metal band Mayhem, I like the actors that portrayed Euronymous (Øystein Aarseth) Dead (Per Yngve "Pelle" Ohlin) & Varg Vikernes. If you are a fan of the band, like their music, then watch this film & read the book that the film is based on. Euronymous was pro-communism, and Varg Vikernes was pro-neo Nazism so obviously they didn't agree on most things. They never really liked each other much. Varg Vikernes burnt churches. Dead was self-destructive, depressed, suicidal and he used to self-harm a lot while on stage. Dead created the "Corpse paint" aesthetic style of makeup. It's sad that he committed suicide, but sick that Euronymous used his suicide as a album cover because he thought it was funny to take a photograph of his suicide. Dead's death in the film is brutal & people can watch the film and form their own opinion about the band/the band members and if Varg Vikernes murdering Euronymous was justified or not. Love them or hate them, (depending on your opinion about them) I love Mayhem, this is one of my favourites films about a Norwegian Black Metal band.

I recently watched this film, which is a follow up to the previous film that was made named The Last Shift. In the the film the The Last Shift there is a cult and Malum goes into a lot more, disturbing and macabre detail, about the cult. I wasn't sure what to expect before watching Malum but I'm glad I watched it. It's been awhile since I have seen, a entertaining, gory horror film about a disturbing cult that believes in & worships in a ancient, demonic Deity.
