From the beginning, the beats are a bit of a let down on this album. 'New York' improves it slightly and features some excellent rapping, and then 'Can't Stop' steps it up again being a really strong track. However, then it slips back down. A couple of songs later 'Street Life' features a nice violin loop and gets the ball rolling again with 'The Come Up' featuring DJ Premier production. It isn't fantastic but it's a solid beat. 'Envious' is forgettable and then 'A.W.O.L.' features a 'Wildflower' sample that has been used on a number of hip hop songs before such as 'Unexplained' by Gravediggaz and Cassidy's 'On the Grind'.
Fairly consistent I guess, but a few beats could've been better.
