I love this band. However, their debut, aside from a few songs, does nothing for me. Sure, the riffs on Factory Girl, Goin' Down, and Miss Nothing make for some fantastic songs. It's just a shame that everything else is boring, sludgy post-grunge. God, I'm glad they moved away from that sound.

I hate rating this so low, since I love these guys' next album Going to Hell. However, while that album was a dark, twisted hard rock masterpiece, this album is generic, sludgy post-grunge. It's not as bad as some acts in the genre, granted, but most of it is so boring. The only reason I'm giving it as high of a score as I am is that Miss Nothing, Goin' Down, and Factory Girl are great songs that show signs of what's to come. I also hate that this album is trying so hard to be edgy without any real purpose other than Taylor Momsen being a child star gone wrong. At least Going to Hell had a purpose!
