This is the moment Against Me cemented their status as a mainstream band. It started with their previous album, New Wave, but this is pop-y even compared to that. While I do prefer their early stuff, this album is perfectly tolerable. In fact, I enjoyed the first three songs a fair bit. They're catchy and fun while still managing to be deep. High Pressure Low is also a fun song, and Rapid Decompression is the closest thing to an actual punk song on this album. That said, the rest of this album is not good. Spanish Moss and Bamboo Bones are sappy inspirational anthems, and the other songs are boring. In other words, it's okay.
