The best thing about the first game in the Far Cry series was the graphics. While they do not feel as groundbreaking in this, they still make for a picturesque environment as the developers have thankfully returned to the tropical island setting that the first was in. In Far Cry 3 the story is fairly interesting with the premise being that a group of vacationers get kidnapped, one person gets free and then tries to rescue his friends. From there the story features some drug references, sex scenes, frequent swearing and gore, intertwined in a kind of finding yourself/coming of age subplot. The voice acting is fairly spot on, although at times the array of accents among the same group of people seems odd. Some seem a lil Australian, others Kiwi, others something completely different. While I'm on the sound, the music does the job, but I didn't find it anything to write home about. The gameplay gives the gamer many options, with a huge world to explore to do the 30 odd missions in, along with many more side-quests, and the option to claim bases, race and hunt. Lastly, I won't say too much, but I did find the ending unsatisfying. It certainly doesn't give enough away about what the future holds for any of the characters. The only reason I can think of is that they will, or are thinking about Far Cry 4 being a sequel to this, because to put so much work into a game and neglect the ending doesn't make sense.
