As far as the overall gameplay goes this doesn't offer a huge amount different to the previous Lego games. It does improve slightly in a few areas such as weapon/item usage which give the levels a bit more of a different feeling than before. Also there is more driving to be done with quite a few levels requiring a vehicle to be used to smash items, destroy villains' vehicles and collect items. The major difference however in comparison to the Original Adventures is that in the Original Adventures you were in the school and went up to that blackboard to pick your level and characters, which was fairly easy to navigate. However, in this game the school is a fairly large world with levels scattered everywhere for each movie. It is confusing at first because the entrance to a level you completed earlier can be an entrance to a future level so you find yourself backtracking and not really knowing where you have been before and where the next level is. The major annoyance though is that you need certain characters to complete levels as they have unique abilities and in normal mode you can't just pick a a character - you have to go back to where that person is in the world - get close to them and then select them - it becomes frustrating. One thing I did think going into this, as this game again offers the first three movies to be played, was that they would feel repetitive, but the developers have done a good job offering new and different levels based on the films that were in the Original Adventures. Overall, there are a few bugs but if you enjoyed Original Adventures or any Lego game this is well worth a try.
