In 9th century China, daggers have sophisticated computer flight systems that allow them to navigate around obstacles and generate new flight paths while in motion. Soldiers can run through the tops of bamboo forests at high speed while firing arrows that rarely miss. A (supposedly) blind woman can hit targets more accurately and more rapidly than any sighted woman alive today. And on it goes, setting new benchmarks of gobsmackingness. There is no doubt that it is all visually stunning, and often spectacularly beautiful. But don't watch it if truthfulness is an important concept to you, because this movie will have you laughing and groaning, and finally fast forwarding through the most ridiculous final sequence imaginable.
