Transformers is the first film I've ever heard of back in the day and of course, it's the one I've seen in the cinema. Back when it's based on the toys before this film came out, I don't know what to think of Transformers until I saw this movie and with Michael Bay directing this including the entire franchise, well, only the pentalogy because Bumblebee and Rise of the Machines had nothing to do with the these follow ups depending on the chronological order those two movies are. Yes, Michael Bay you know from Bad Boys, The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and of course, Pain & Gain, he's the guy whom you may love or hate, the guy is known for making action films filled with loud explosions, slow-mo's, US Military Force, real life events which are completely true or not and hot chicks, this guy is full of himself. The planet Cybertron was ravaged by a civil war between two Transformer factions; the Autobots led by Optimus Prime played by Peter Cullen, and the Decepticons led by Megatron played by Hugo Weaving, for the AllSpark, a cube that is the source of all Cybertronian life. The Autobots want to find it to rebuild Cybertron and end the war, while the Decepticons wanted it to destroy the universe. The Decepticon, Frenzy infiltrated the Air Force One to hack into the military network and plant a virus. He finds the map imprinted on the glasses, which is owned by his descendant, Sam Witwicky played by Shia LaBeouf, leading him to begin tracking Sam's location. Sam buys his first car which turns out to be an Autobot, Bumblebee later on and woo his crush, Mikaela played by Megan Fox. Bumblebee starts driving out in the streets when Witwicky thinks his car is stolen but no one's in it and founds out that his car is transformed. Now he seeks help from the Autobots including leader, Optimus Prime to stop Megatron and the Decepticons to save earth. From what I've witnessed years ago including recently I really enjoyed it, coming from the fact where there are scenes that I enjoyed like when there's a 80's song which I heard years ago called "Drive", that's in the film, noting the fact that I've actually got to hear it the first time in the same year before I heard it in this movie. One part I remember the first time is the police car is actually a Decepticon chasing Sam Witwicky looking for the glasses of his great Captain Archibald Witwicky. I was literally laughing when it speaks when he was asking him his username and the glasses. "Are you username: LadiesMan217?" "I don't know what you're talking about!" "ARE YOU USERNAME: LADIESMAN217?" "Yeah..." "Where is the eBay item 21153? WHERE ARE THE GLASSES?" Jon Voight is in the film. Completely forgot about that considering. Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime is such an incredible performance as he gives his commanding voice to the true leader of the character who is known to be in charge of the Autobots. His voice in this is incredible and he does a very good job portraying the character and still doing it all these years later. Let's not forget Eeyore is actually Optimus Prime. "Thanks for noticing me." I remember the end battle being the most enjoyable with Sam trying to keep the AllSpark from Megatron while the Autobots battling the Decepticons. There is a video game version of this which of course I literally remember it being played in my presence when I was a kid but sadly never saw the game being completed. For the first film in the franchise, Transformers is an awesome action sci-fi film with explosive action, the Autobots didn't get enough screen time including Decepticon, Megatron like I thought they would but still. One thing I forgot to mention is I watched the entire pentalogy in one day without a fail. Since the first one being a good one, let's hope for the rest of the franchise being good as gold. Autobots, roll down.
