Medieval refers to settings in Europe during the Middle Ages. Roughly speaking the medieval period lasted from the 5th to the 15th century. This usually includes castles, swordplay and warfare. Frequent portrayals include War and other conflicts (often The Crusades), plague (especially The Black Death), peasantry, witch hunts and political scheming. Another popular trope is the romantic portrayal of courageous knights saving damsels in distress.

A story of a 25-year old Go Ha-jin who is transported back in time to the Goryeo Dynasty. She then wakes up in the body of Lady Hae-soo and finds herself amongst the ruling princes of the Wang Family.

The first part of the show depicts the rise of the Seljuks under Sultan Melikshah. It focuses on their struggles and battles against Hassan Sabbah, leader of the Order of Assassins, and against the Byzantine Empire and fellow rival states that seek to weaken the Seljuks. The second part of the show focuses on the descendent of the righteous Oghuz Turks, the forefather of conquest, the patron of the oppressed, the nightmare of oppressors, whose shadow shook the ground he walked on... Sultan Muhammed Alparslan.
