Uh, not my Captain America.

Christopher Townsend did a spectacular job with the visual effects work and the acting is great. However, I just didn't have fun with the movie. His comic-accurate suit that he wears for the play in the movie is not even the suit he ends up with, and instead he gets a suit that fits military use, which makes sense, but to me it doesn't look right. The Red Skull is great, he makes for a terrifying villain, but then he gets sucked up by the Tesseract and isn't seen again until Infinity War; he could have been Cap's rival and nemesis for years, but then they only use him as a villain in one movie. The CGI was great, but that doesn't save the movie. The fights were great, but again doesn't save the movie. There is so much stuff in this movie that are great, or could have been great if executed differently. It just doesn't work for me though. Also, Steve's first kiss not being Peggy irks me a lot but perhaps too much. So anyway, that's my review. Probably harsh to give this a low score, but I was greatly disappointed and that's the rating I feel like giving it. Still though, Chris Evans is dope.

The first half is definitely better than the second. I don't think they really tell you enough about what they actually did to Steve Rogers and what powers he would have. Also, I get that he was made bigger and stronger but why can he fight like Bruce Lee now? The ending is fairly underwhelming and was purely to get him into the present, but the story for enough of the film and some good action sequences make the film enjoyable. That shield is fairly fantastic.
