Description
Night Gallery is a 1969 American made-for-television anthology supernatural horror film starring Joan Crawford, Roddy McDowall and Richard Kiley. Directed by Boris Sagal, Steven Spielberg and Barry Shear, the film consists of three supernatural tales that served as the pilot for the anthology television series of the same name, written and hosted by Rod Serling. The film originally premiered on NBC on November 8, 1969. The Cemetery: After murdering his uncle, a man (Roddy McDowall) is haunted by a family painting that keeps changing. Eyes: A blind woman (Joan Crawford) undergoes an operation that gives her 12 hours to see. Great Escape: A fugitive Nazi (Richard Kiley) faces the consequences of his past actions.

Steven Spielberg's "Eyes" is the most celebrated of the three segments, for a variety of obvious reasons, but it’s lapped by Barry Shear's "Great Escape". All three have their merits and the pilot film is solid overall.
