The impressionistic story of a Texas family in the 1950s. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father. Jack finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith.
Looked great but ultimately I didn't feel much connection emotionally to the characters which seems to be the main intention of the film, because it definitely isn't the plot. I didn't connect with the children either, found some of the scenes a bit weird between the mother and the kids and the whispering was annoying. Also this 2 hour and 18 minute movie felt much longer which is never a good sign.
