Meet the most beloved sitcom horse of the 90s - 20 years later. BoJack Horseman was the star of the hit TV show "Horsin' Around," but today he's washed up, living in Hollywood, complaining about everything, and wearing colorful sweaters.
A seemingly innocuous cartoon for grown-ups on the surface, Bojack Horseman is a layered, more nuanced series than it initially seems. With a painfully honest, beautifully dark, and compassionately told portrayal of depression, the show offers a sobering yet comedic (and wholly humane) look at what can probably be summed up as "simply the human condition in general."
A show about a horse seems strange, but it works! The characters are well defined and the plot is meaningful. In retrospective, I can hardly think of anything this show does wrong. I can higly recommend it if you are looking for something both entertaining and dramatic.
