why didn't anyone tell me this movie was so good?
i brushed it off when it was released bc i think i thought it was a dry and serious *historical piece* i wouldn't connect with or smth, but i finally watched recently and it's actually brilliant, hilarious, and entertaining all the way through
Unflinchingly tense. This movie takes you into the life of a man consumed by gambling and makes you truly feel why it's such an addicting, exhausting, and dangerous activity.
watched this way up close in the front row of the theater and i was genuinely worried i forgot to take my anxiety meds that day (i didn't, but they were not much help) - a true testament to how brilliantly tense this was
