Reliving the same few days but adjusting the story add a ton of replayability and intrigue to this story. Even just finding and collecting the various styles and weapons is fun in itself.

Lots of fun. What a ton of roguelike or rogue-lite games miss is a sense of progression, which Rogue Legacy nails. The music is catchy as heck, and the sense of humor is totally on point.

A breathe of fresh air that the series desparately needed.

Even just running around the city and jumping off of the tallest buildings is a lot of fun. The plot is actually an interesting twist on what you expect, as well.

The peak of the Dynasty Warriors Series. The formula was perfected here, and things after this have either flopped or gone stale.

It's pure jank, but really worth it just to see a version of LOTR that's not inspired by Peter Jackson's films

My first playthrough made me cry twice without expecting to. I think a lot of the fandom can sour people on the game, but it's absolutely worthwhile to play, even if it's just to hear the music in context.

A lot of open-world games have this problem where they really seem to struggle with how to end their story. Far Cry 5 is really infamous for this. The story is intense, exciting, and more politically relevant than the developers want to admit (not by much, but it's there) The music, combat, exploration, and side missions are all top notch. Boomer is the best companion (such a good dog). And I have not played a game that's made piloting a plane nearly as fun as this.

The best "soulslike" that wasn't made by FromSoftware

Absolutely mindbending

The best way to describe this game is "good, but flawed." The companion characters are generally likeable, but are also fairly one-note in their characterization. The various factions are all interestingly developed, but it's pretty dang clear that the kill-for-science and kill-for-religion groups absolutely suck. The combat is fun, but repetitive fights and easy-to-cheese enemies get obnoxious after a while. If I was to sum this up in a single sentence, I'd say: "What is Bioware wrote James Cameron's Avatar?"

It's SO clunky compared to other fantasy RPGs that have come out since. But there's a reason that the Baldur's Gate series is held up for its writing. It's good! And absolutely worth fighting the clunkiness to experience.

Inventive worldbuilding that takes fantasy tropes and plays with them in a truly dark way. Absolutely worth tracking down and playing for the desperation and insanity that just pours out of this game.

Lara Croft feels bad about killing people. *the game mechanics still revolve around mass murder, but now the storyline tries to make you feel bad for it. Plus add in some chosen-whitey colonialism and you're golden!

Hey. Do you need to take a break? Want to play a game that isn't insanely long or dark or serious? Want to feel better? Play this.

Pure power-fantasy addiction

Chasing chickens doesn't get old, and the quirkiness of the world is a lot of fun. It's ugly, but in the way that pugs are ugly

Fun combat, cute character interactions, bad story.

The sense of humor shines through the overly-serious plot. There's not enough choice, and a lot of simplistic good-but-bad versus evil-but-pragmatic dogma.

It shows its age really poorly, but there's still a gem worth playing if you're down to play it.
