One of the hardest hitting debut albums. As someone who followed Chappell from the singles released in preparation for TRAFOAMP, I could not have anticipated the historical release we got. Truly a no skip album, detailing the story of Chappell Roan both as a fictional character and independent project. My personal favorite songs are the ones detailing the conflicting feelings about leaving home and coming back. The way she captures the longing for her home state while also knowing that returning would be admitting defeat and potentially burying Chappell forever. It's part of why I think Guilty Pleasure is such an amazing ending track, releasing all the guilt and stepping into the spotlight.
