Joshua Jay (born December 9, 1995), known professionally as Sixteen Bit Fun, is an American electronic music producer and DJ from Millsboro, Delaware.
Taking his name from the 1988 Alesis HR 16-bit drum machine, Sixteen Bit Fun uses synthesizers and drum machines to create a unique mix of Dark Electronic music, Chiptune sounds, Electro Funk and Industrial music that pushes the sound and feel of electronic video game music into cinematic territory.
Inspired by the 16-bit electronic sounds of the classic Streets of Rage (Official Game Soundtrack), produced by YUZO KOSHIRO, the Industrial Electronic Dance Music grooves on Human After All by legendary French electronic music group, Daft Punk, and the robotic melodic Electronic style and sequenced rhythms of the iconic German electronic band, Kraftwerk, on their album Trans-Europe Express (2009 Remaster), Sixteen Bit Fun has created a unique 16-bit Electronic music style using both the Alesis HR-16 and the 909 drum machines.
From classic Four-on-the-floor Techno dance grooves and Synthpop keyboard melodies, to Electro-Industrial beats and atmospheric Dark Ambient sounds, Sixteen Bit Fun is on a mission to show how creative and powerful the Video Game Music genre can be.
