A much better album than it has any right to be given how long - just over 20 years - this group fell off the status quo radar, more or less. Downcast industrial metal pleasures to be had here and there, nothing outstanding though. 6.5/10

While there is a undeniably cinematic aura to this muted tale and a devotion to generating ominous terror to give John Carpenter a run for his money, that puts empty upstarts like the Wachowskis to shame, etc. etc. there is not much more than meets the eye going on, not enough to vault this past style-before-content horrorama. Krasinski thinks he's fooled you into believing he seeks tragic martyrdom, but has all the palatability/dignity (which is to say, none) of just another redneck stereotype who would rather take the easy way out and die than stand up for his family against a supernatural horror. Can't recommend this one. 5.5/10

Armand Assante has the actual chops and grit to convince as a Machiavellian underworld figure, which is faint praise if you think about it. He keeps matters watchable yet is out to likely plot your eventual demise somehow or other, oy vey........ 6/10

Huh, inspired choice for a villainess. Typical Back to the Future gallavanting hokum for the most part though, meant to antagonize an innocent kid demographic of all things......would be nice to see a 'timecop' or organization which handles crimes also meant to screw around with this dimension's continuity on celluloid that I could actually endorse. Ryan Reynolds' snark is cut out for Deadpool (yes, even when Hollywood/Sony don't seem to know how to approach that anti-hero beyond a superficial freakshow), you see, and not who'd you want as a 'timecop'. 4.5/10

Second viewing. Easy to roast Nicholas Sparks for not bringing worthwhile material to the table. Still a dud unfit for network television with ridiculous pretensions of being a real romance for its time: Costner and Wright have zero chemistry, though at least the latter shows mere glimpses (as opposed to the full enchilada, the real thing) of being able to turn in a sympathetic depiction of a real, lovestruck humanoid. Newman is just pathetic as the stock curmudgeon, and given the rankest feces of the dialogue (one of his howlers has him admonishing 'if I were only 150 years younger, young lady' or some shit like that, not joking). MiaB manages to wholly plummet off the rails in the final half hour, ditching Wright altogether more or less, when you'd think it could have been picking up steam or amassing sparks......which should give you more than enough indication of how discombobulated the entire misbegotten affair is. The ballad soundtrack is somewhat interesting, to be fair. Sure beats slogging through the movie it's attached to. 3/10
