Another year, another NFS game. This is basically Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit with some more open world exploration. It features some exhilarating racing though and racing fans will still enjoy. As I have said with a number of games from this generation, why I need to be online and get disconnected from half way through something to play against bots I'll never know. An enjoyable racer that I played through to the end.

The plot of racing across America provides some great graphics with many different environments to race in. It also offers something slightly different to the usual Need for Speed game.

Not a bad game by any means, but again there isn't much new here from Hot Pursuit II eight years ago. Also I'm not sure why it only has career mode, not allowing you to just have a quick race/pursuit if you wish. You could probably increase the rating around one point if you are fairly fresh to the series, particularly if you haven't played Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit II. Again from EA, some new features have been added, but there isn't a lot new, and the gameplay feels very very similar to the previous title. Also, call me impatient, but I don't know why any game makes you watch cutscenes and videos, but for a racing game to make you do so is beyond ridiculous. If you played Shift 1 to death, I'm not sure if you would get a lot of this. Add 1 to 1.5 stars if you are a newcomer to the series.

An NBA Jam like game with tricks being the name of the game. Defending though gets tiresome with the ball being on the ground right in front of you yet there isn't a lot one can do.
