I was immersed in this thanks to some of the harrowing scenes, the empathy the movie made me feel towards the portrayed victims and the hatred towards its villains. The final act had a Home Alone feel to it and felt like an easy way to end the film in a way but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

The first 2/3s isn't bad and I was enjoying this. I was thinking 3.5/5. The final third, which is basically a dream (looking into the future), becomes a standard shoot 'em up fest and is weak. 3-2.5/5

A bank robbery goes wrong as the thief, Ned Perry, played by Martin Short, tries to use a recently released felon, Lucas, played by Nick Nolte, who was incarcerated for bank robbery, as a hostage to escape. From there the film is about Ned being with his daughter, the relationship between the three, evading the police and finding a way to safety. The police are fairly stupid in this allowing the fugitives to be fugitives for most of the film. There are moments of laughter, including the ending, and heart, involving Ned's daughter, but it's fairly predictable and gets a bit repetitive. 2.5-3/5

Feels rushed in parts. The change that occurs to Maggie Hayward, Bridget Fonda, occurs too quickly. particularly psychologically. Despite the long sex montage, her relationship seems rushed as well. Seemed a bit cheap in aspects of the action scenes as well. I feel this needed to be better written/longer in duration to develop Maggie's character better.

I don't get what gives this one the terrible reputation compared to the previous two films in the series. I prefer it to 2 because it doesn't go on so much about Peter's and Mary Jane's relationship. On that, Mary is unlikable in this series. She is a drama queen at times and needed to be better written for her flip-outs. Despite having 2.5 villains, they aren't as strong as Doctor Octopus and the action between the villains and Spider-Man isn't as strong despite the strong special effects of Sandman and even Venom on a lesser note. 2.5-3.
