Who better to hunt down a criminal than Tommy Lee Jones? Unfortunately, that’s also the film’s biggest problem. He’s more than 20 years older than Benicio del Toro, yet somehow runs like Hicham El Guerrouj despite a visible limp, and still manages to outfight a man supposedly among the world’s most dangerous, with the stealth of Batman, no less. Any sense of believability evaporates from the start. The plot feels thin and underdeveloped too, lacking that extra layer of depth or emotion that stronger entries in the genre like Rambo or The Fugitive deliver.

Only two of the four original 112 members (Mike and Slim) appear on this EP, but they make the most of it. The project is more cohesive and consistent than their previous 2017 release, ‘Q, Mike, Slim, Daron’. With solid production, catchy hooks, and smooth vocals, it’s a worthwhile listen for R&B fans. ‘Come Over’ stands out thanks to its contagious hook, and ‘Dangerous Game’ works well too, with a solid build-up and enough variety to keep things engaging. The album starts off decently overall, but from 'True Colors' onward there’s little to really love. Tracks like ‘Lucky’ drift too far into pop territory, losing the R&B essence that makes their best work shine. It starts strong, falls away in the middle, but redeems itself slightly with a few emotional closing tracks, as is often the case with R&B albums. The Intro and Interludes don’t do much besides slowing the album down which is a recurring issue across many of 112’s projects. ‘Keep It Real (Interlude)’ even feels like a mini advertisement for Bad Boy: “Notorious B.I.G., B.I.G / Craig Mack’s the brand new flavor, mmm.” While a few tracks meander, there are still plenty of highlights, especially in the first half. The problem is that, despite how strong many of these songs are individually, the album as a whole isn’t as enjoyable a listen as it should be. The pacing suffers, and at nearly 80 minutes, it runs a few songs too long. Still, there are a lot of great moments here making this a recommended listen for fans of '90s R&B. 1 112 Intro 60 2 Now That We're Done 70 3 Pleasure & Pain 92 4 Why (Interlude) 50 5 Cupid 85 6 Call My Name 90 7 Come See Me 80 8 Sexy You (Interlude) 55 9 Can I Touch You 76 10 I Can't Believe 90 11 Keep It Real (Interlude) 60 12 Only You (Bad Boy Remix) 70 13 I Will Be There 73 14 In Love With You 66 15 Just a Little While 77 16 Why Does 78 17 This Is Your Day 64 18 Throw It All Away 84 19 Only You (Clean Radio Mix)

This was the first 112 album I heard, and it’s still one of their strongest. It marked a real return to form after their weakest effort, 'Hot & Wet'. 'What If' stands out as one of, if not the, best songs they’ve ever made, and 'If I Hit' is probably their best track with a rap feature. The hook hits hard and sticks with you. The more upbeat R&B works well here, which isn’t something I could always say for them. 'The Way' featuring JD is another worthwhile highlight. On the other hand, 'Closing the Club' reeks of mid-’00s hip hop excess and ends up as the clear low point. 'That’s How Close We Are' brings some real soul to the table, and there’s a lot of variety across the album. Nothing feels repetitive which you can't always say for R&B albums of that era. Even the aforementioned weakest track offers something different. This one’s definitely underappreciated.
