This feels like RR4 with better visuals and less interesting tracks. Drifting around corners is still great, and I guess you have to take into account that this was one of the launch titles, but it isn't innovative at all. Gameplay 3.5/5 Graphics 3.5/5 Sound 4.5/5 Difficulty 4.5/5 Originality 1.5/5

The publishers of this originally cancelled game, apparently refused to let reviewers have a copy to look at prior to its release. I can see why. The game is set in 1969 revolving around bikies, with the protagonist returning from Vietnam, and it starts off interestingly enough. However, it does not take long before the story skips over parts basically from the beginning. The controls are odd. Apart from editing a file in the game's directory, there is no way to modify the graphical settings, and even then there seemed to be no change. The graphics aren't far from what you'd expect from a game about 10 years ago. Most pertinent of all though, the gameplay is lacking. It is basically split between third person shooting/fighting and motorcycling levels, that are uncreative, feeling like something from Road Rash, and would have been a lot better if the levels were more open. It isn't small either, taking up 16 gigs of your hard drive. While containing a good idea or two, it feels unfinished. Gameplay 2/5 Graphics 2.5/5 Sound 3/5 Difficulty 4/5 Originality 2.5/5

This was released around the same time as Final Fantasy XIII (another great marketing move by Sega...), so it fell under the radar and is known as somewhat of an underrated gem. The main problem I have with it is that it does not give you enough information on how to play it. From the confusing battle mode, through to the energy hexes (how you get around the world map) it left me frustrated and at my computer researching the game for as long as I was actually playing it for. The battle mode also seems pretty repetitious early on. I'm going to give this more time as it has things to like about it but the lack of info the game gives the gamer is poor. *Some of the music reminds of the Superman 2 OST > [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LG6amM0I-fA]

RE5 looks great and has an entertaining story but the Resident Evil games used to have a bit of horror in them. I remember a few times while playing Resident Evil 2 my heart jumped, this doesn't happen in this game. I know they have moved away from the horror side of things with how the game is played compared to the early Resident Evil games but it makes the games less memorable. On the gameplay side of things though it plays well like Resident Evil 4 and as with the earlier Resident Evil games you do have to watch your ammo. Like RE4 also I think the view you play from could be slightly tweaked, I always feel claustrophobic playing. Or maybe that's the intention. Being able to force police against the wall when holding a hostage is basically the only original thing this film to video game adaptation has going for it. Otherwise, it's just an average third person shooter.
