This was released around the same time as Final Fantasy XIII (another great marketing move by Sega...), so it fell under the radar and is known as somewhat of an underrated gem. The main problem I have with it is that it does not give you enough information on how to play it. From the confusing battle mode, through to the energy hexes (how you get around the world map) it left me frustrated and at my computer researching the game for as long as I was actually playing it for. The battle mode also seems pretty repetitious early on. I'm going to give this more time as it has things to like about it but the lack of info the game gives the gamer is poor.

RE5 looks great and has an entertaining story but the Resident Evil games used to have a bit of horror in them. I remember a few times while playing Resident Evil 2 my heart jumped, this doesn't happen in this game. I know they have moved away from the horror side of things with how the game is played compared to the early Resident Evil games but it makes the games less memorable. On the gameplay side of things though it plays well like Resident Evil 4 and as with the earlier Resident Evil games you do have to watch your ammo. Like RE4 also I think the view you play from could be slightly tweaked, I always feel claustrophobic playing. Or maybe that's the intention.

Being able to force police against the wall when holding a hostage is basically the only original thing this film to video game adaptation has going for it. Otherwise, it's just an average third person shooter.
This goes for realism over shooting everything up, where if you get killed, you are gone for the mission and take control of another member of your squadron. The main problem I'm having with this is that I cannot tell who I'm helping win a war, and who I'm trying to shoot in the head. I guess that's realistic, but it makes it frustrating.
The graphics look incomplete here. They may have been trying to do more than they could with the SegaCD, but it looks bad. The handling is the main issue though with it being too sensitive.
