I really enjoyed/enjoy Lil' Flips last album 'All Eyez on Us'. It was a consistent piece of work that felt like an album, it had very long replayability and Flip had a good partnership going with Young Noble. Certified is less consistent, a bit more pop rappy than All Eyez on Us, but not overly, the featured artist Gudda Gudda doesn't have the same presence as Young Noble (you don't really notice him) and overall it's just not as solid. Still though, the production is still on the right track which has let down some past Flip material and I like the best tracks enough to give it a decent score. Best Tracks: Bosses Make It Rain, She So Fly, I Love Cali, Down South Legends, Certified, G Tales.

Freeways last release, 'Philadelphia Freeway 2'; is a nice/underrated album and one of my favourites of the year, so anything else from Freeway this year was something I looked forward to. Freeway didn't want this released, but it obviously was, and what's done is done. While this is another listenable album from beginning to end and most on this ain't bad, the issue with this album is that unlike Phili Freeway 2, no track really impresses me. It is in the same short format as his previous release with 13 tracks at a total duration of only 46 minutes which makes it easy to play through, but nothing standouts, particularly as far as the production is concerned with it being a few steps down from Philadelphia Freeway 2. Best Tracks: Let Me Sing Me Song, All Night Long, Mental Note, Who Ever, Make A Move, Untitled

This is an alright mixtape, but the main problem for me is that he is rapping over Eminem joints who in most areas is a better rapper than Free, so you're left comparing it to the originals. Worth a listen though if you're a Freeway fan. Best Tracks: Freeway's Beard, Syco, Freezer's Back, No Brains, For the Moment.

This is touching 4.5/5 and is Lloyd's best album so far. There are many upper-tier songs that I still play constantly a decade later. Lloyd doesn't need features either. My favs are when it's just him singing his ass off. The production, handled by a host of people, but predominantly Polow da Don (aka Awesome Jones!!!!), is great and varied. There are ballads and some high tempo club R&B tunes. Very much recommended. Best Tracks: Cupid, Naked, Jigsaw, Be the One, Lay It Down, This Is 4 My Baby, You II

The ballads/slow jamz work much better on this than his previous album with some amazing ones. Wayne is back and again combines with Lloyd for a good club R&B tune that heavily uses 'Paid in Full', sampling it and Lil Wayne lyrically reusing some of the lyrics. Some great standouts, with a bit of filler still from Lloyd, but this album isn't too inconsistent. Best Tracks: Year of the Lover, I Can Change Your Life, Touched By An Angel, Heart Attack
