Pharrell would have to be one of the most heard artists these days, and if you’re not hearing him as a featuring artist, he is probably producing the song you are listening to. Maybe this is why this album is disappointing. Maybe because he does so many things he ran out of ideas. 'In My Mind' starts off slowly, with tracks 1-7 being disappointing apart from ‘Best Friend’. After track 7 though it starts to improve and generally apart from a track or two it is a lot more enjoyable to listen to. This is a change as most of the time albums start off better than they finish. ‘Young Girl/I Really Like You’, ‘Number One’ and the final track ‘Skateboard P Presents Show You How To Hustle’ are standouts, while ‘Angel’ and ‘Take It Off’ are also very good. I don’t enjoy his rapping as much as his singing but he can do both reasonably well. Hopefully his next album can be more of the ‘Number Ones’ and less of the ‘Can I Have It Like Thats’.

This gets a lot of hate, probably mostly due to the lyrically ridiculous 'Thong Song', but it ain't a bad R&B album from the Dru Hill member. I remember at the time this came out I didn't even know what a thong was, apart from the ones you wear on your feet. How quickly time flies... Anyway, track for track there are a few good hip hop themed tracks but overall it's mostly R&B ballads some of which are great like 'Incomplete'. It's worth a look if you enjoyed 'Thong Song' and enjoy the slower type of '90s/early '00s R&B. Best Tracks: Unleash the Dragon, Thong Song, Incomplete, Addicted, Enchantment Passing

Some good tracks, with the chill funky production suiting Snoop, Warren and the king of choruses, Nate, but the sound, along with the sexual lyrics, definitely starts to get repetitive much earlier than it should. Best Tracks: Twista Yo Body, Groupie Luv, Joystick, MLK

A fairly honorable remix album from Joey Fingaz & The Chemical Kickdrums. They put their own beats to Nas' joints and add in featuring artists verses also. Apart from a few tunes, everything works quite well. It's done with clean verses though, so particularly on the third verse of 'The Cross', you have a lot of the blank moments. Best Tracks: The Cross (CK original remix) King of New York (feat. Jay-Z) (CK original remix) - Ether and Takeover acapellas are cut up and it's like Jay and Nas are battling, each trading lines with each other. Got Yourself a Gun (feat. 50 Cent) (CK original remix) Nas Is Like (feat. Big L) (CK original remix) One Love (CK original remix) Get Down (feat. Kool G Rap) (CK original remix)

An interesting remix album with some of Nas' best mixed over beats from the far east I guess... Most of it works pretty well with the best track 'Rule' surpassing the original. The music gives it a really good jazzy vibe. 'Where Y'all At' also works excellently offering a very different feel to what was the street single to Hip Hop Is Dead. Best Tracks: Rule (AjapS Remix), Where Y'all At (Jugg Remix), Life's A Bitch (Jugg Remix), Fast Life (Jugg Remix)
