This has taken me many attempts to get into while his other projects haven't needed any time at all. The production just doesn't grab me like most, if not all of his other albums. I find his cadence here less appealing as well. It's like this is the Pac Dave Chappelle was doing an impression of in his Pac skit. I think that his best rapping performance came on 'Me Against the World'. All in all, there aren't any weak moments and some could argue that it is one of most consistent Pac albums, but it certainly doesn't feature his greatest songs in my opinion. The best songs on this are among the best in hip hop which show Pac's poetic side probably more than any of his other albums and feature his best rapping performance. The alliteration used on 'If I Die 2Nite' alone is brilliant. The songs I love I never tire of and they go a long way to earning this the great rating I've given it. However, there are a few that, that while happy to hear them, they ain't the kind of songs to put of repeat such as the first two tracks particularly which are favourites. With a lil' more in the beats on a few tracks, mainly located in the middle of the album, this could have been perfect, but it isn't too far away. To sum this album up in a sentence, it's pretty much the definition of hit or miss imo. Best Tracks: Maneater, Promiscuous, Say It Right All amazing songs. ^

Better than lots of VA compilations. The two DMX tracks are great, with 'Right / Wrong' being the lesser-known but the better of the two. He also has a dope song on the 'Exit Wounds' soundtrack with 'No Sunshine' that is well worth checking out. X, Em and Obie combined for the strong 'Go to Sleep' and then 'What's It All For?', that samples CkY's '96 Quite Bitter Beings', is hard as nails once it gets into the song. The other best moment for me is Big Stan's 'Hand That Rocks the Cradle'. Comp's 'Do Sumptin' is the weakest of the lot but is the only one real skippable tune, with the rest being decent-strong songs. Best Tracks: X Gon' Give It to Ya, Go to Sleep, What's It All For? Fireman, Right / Wrong, Hand That Rocks the Cradle, My Life (Cradle 2 the Grave)

Not bad and I'd say this is his most mature release. Still nothin' outstanding though and plenty of average tracks. If he wrote more songs like 'How We Feel' and 'Lovely Ladies' he would probably have more respect from the wider hip hop community.
