One of the best comedy specials I've seen. A funny intro and constant laughs throughout with an ode to comedy for its finale. Elvis impersonator aside, that I didn't get the point of, it's a different level than most specials you'll see. Go from Ali Wong's recent one to this, and you'll see the difference in Sandler's comedic talent.
The first thing I remember checking out from DeJ was 'All Jokes Aside', which I enjoyed, but since then, nothing has grabbed me. This hasn't bucked the trend. She has an element of originality in her style, but her music has often just bored me aside from the aforementioned mixtape and her "Whoa" adlib has become quite annoying.
Best Tracks: GOOD A$$ DAY
I like the best Omarion provides. He has a number of top R&B tracks in his discography, but there is nothing here that I love. It's consistently decent, and an easy listen, but nothing much stands out.
Best Tracks: Can You Hear Me, Unbothered
More consistent than the Grammy winning 'MICHAEL', and one of the more consistent rap albums I've heard this year. He's an extremely commanding MC and I dislike less than I did on 'MICHAEL'.
Beats: ★★★☆
Rapping/Bars: ★★★★
Hooks: ★★★
Best Tracks: NOBODY KNOWS, HUMBLE ME, HIGHER LEVEL, '97 3-6 FREESTYLE
This wasn't worth waiting nearly 40 years for. I would've thought they'd come up with a more interesting script. Everything comes together too easily, including the villain being eliminated too suddenly. Big fans of the original will enjoy seeing the characters again, but it felt like it was missing something to me.
