It's okay, and has some banging beats, but in most ways it's your normal southern rap sounding LP. There's is nothing really original and nd it just feels like a long album with too many similar tracks. Best Track: Call Me What U Want

This album is pretty much hit or miss pop rap. I really like the songs mentioned below but most of the others are ones to skip. Best Tracks: Baby I'm Back, That's My Lady (Money), No Way Jose, Obsession

MJ's Most Consistent Album For consistency I think I would rank this as the best MJ album out of the lot. It doesn't have a 'Smooth Criminal' or 'Beat It' amongst the tracks but from 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough' to 'Burn This Disco Out' you have great music. I also think the slower ballads here like 'Girlfriend' and 'She's Out of My Life' work better than what Thriller has with 'Baby Be Mine' and 'The Lady in My Life'. While lacking the breadth of originality of some of his other music, here following the disco popularity, and not being as pop-culturally significant as what was to come, it's a breakthrough record in many ways and like I started this piece of writing with, for a consistent body of work, this is his best. A consistent "first studio album to be released by an Asian American under a major record label" by Jin/MC Jin. As happens with being on a major label, Jin got access to some heavy-hitting producers from Just Blaze to Kanye West and most of the production is fairly good. While the lyrically content isn't gangsta rap, some of the beats almost fit into the hardcore hip hop variety while at other times there are some pop-rap themed tracks. Jin's strength is his relatability, storytelling and some of the humorous bars. I assume that this didn't do the numbers the label wanted because he moved on from here. 3-3.5 Best Tracks: Here Now, I Got a Love, Learn Chinese, C'mon

While this is better, as with his debut, I feel that this is unappreciated. This album caught my attention from the jump with hard rhymes from Ren with some nice west coast beats that match the title, feeling dark. While there is some consciousness in 'Bring It On' and thrown in at times with other bars, the rhymes are mostly brag rap with many lines hating on soft rappers. Goes hard. A really consistent 50-minute release. Best Tracks: Mad Scientist, Live From Compton 'Saturday Night', I Don't Give a Damn, Bring It On.
