One of two things happen when I begin to watch The Empath - A) at some point, I get bored and change the channel because I figure I can watch it another time, or B) if I make it to the end, I say to myself - "what was the point?" She was a nice girl, you have no real control over her, and you interrupted three other persons' lives just to prove some stupid point no one cares about.

This is one of the few TOS episodes that really disturbs me. I actually think it's a commentary on cults to some degree.

If you like your Scotty sloshed out of his galoshes, this is the episode to check out.

This one has possibly the most fantastically dumb premise ever although the noncorporeal alien idea was a concept the show was well-versed in. It's a much better comedy than the authentic horror it badly wishes it could be.

They could have dealt with the whole Pike-Spock affair in one episode
