Being an R. Kelly fan, 'Trapped in the Drive Thru' is quite funny and could have been longer. The rest of it apart from Confessions Part 3 doesn't do a lot for me. I've never been a huge fan of W.A.Y though. The main problem with a parody album is it doesn't have a lot of huge replay value.
Best Tracks: Trapped in the Drive-Thru, Confessions Part III.
A fire compilation of songs produced by Mossberg. I recognise some of these songs from other releases, but I think a number are exclusive to this. Some fire beats, and T-Rock, who is on nearly every song, is in great form.
Best Tracks: Heen Bout It, Caked Up, Gangsta Gangsta, Wild Out, Burnin Dro, At Ya Front Doe
I was critical of 'Lord of the Fly', mainly because of the vocals, but on this album they don't seem to bother me as much. Everything seems a notch better than previous Picasso albums, from the beats by the great 'BSBD, through to Nacho creating many catchy tunes. One of the more enjoyable hip hop releases for 2012.
Best Tracks: Bloody Murder, Mob Ties, Tom Hanks, Kickin Out Windows, 4th of July, Joey Gallo.
In his mid-50s KRS is still a commanding MC. The beats are unique making the album feel somewhat fresh compared to much of what we hear elsewhere and maintain a similar sound throughout the album making it feel like a cohesive project. It loses some steam in the middle with 'Club Pippa' and 'Wet It Up' being less likeable than the songs beforehand. An enjoyable release. It's reminded me that I need to check out his older projects that I've missed.
Best Tracks: Raw Hip Hop, Krazy, Knock Em Out, I M A M C R U 1 2, Think Bigger
Despite what various rating sites say (and I can't believe they do), this is easily better than the third movie. It has flaws, but it actually feels like a Superman movie. Lex and Lois are back, Superman has a proper villain to fight and the ridiculous attempts at comedy have been stripped back. The cost cutting is evident with the effects not making for as much of an authentic feeling as the first two films, and Lenny is an annoying character, but at it's core, there is a decent fun movie here.
