There is no one who I enjoy rapping more these days than T-Rock, and he doesn't disappoint with his solo songs on this Rock Solid Mafia compilation. The others, particularly at the beginning of the album, are well worth hearing also, with Smoke on track 4 spitting like Bone Thugs, but it falls off with too many average tunes.

My main man, T-Rock, has been busy, with plans to drop a couple of albums soon. 'Papers' will be released a month later on August 20th and another is expected out later in the year. With that being so, I'm not surprised that in this label compilation a lot of these songs fail to reach true high peaks. Even the other Rock Solid Music family members, some of whom had a song on the similar 'Mafia Music' collaboration, don't come with as much heat as before. The rapping as usual is good, not only from Rock, but the likes of T.O.A. is quite Bone Thugs like, but the production isn't as good as you'll hear on recent T-Rock albums. A lot feels more like generic hardcore/trap, where for me T-Rock normally makes his stuff a tier better than that. Like the label's name this is solid, but there are few real high points. I can't wait for T-Rock's albums though.

This has some brilliant G-Funk beats that Dr. Dre would have been impressed with back in the day, lyrically it is about something with a political/conscious emphasis, Paris has always had a voice and presence on the mic that I have always enjoyed, there is variety throughout the tracks and it's great all the way through. The one thing you could say about the increased funkified production compared to his rawer previous work, is that maybe they downplay the lyrics a bit, but I like them too much for that to be an issue.

[SPOILERS] To me, this seemed like it needed a closing act. When the credits started to roll, I was asking myself, "Is that it?" Eddie gets out of prison and it all just falls into place. There is no resistance from the gang he is getting revenge on. Some of the character decisions seemed odd too. The old inmate protecting Eddie and the wife wanting nothing do to with him being the main two. Was it explained why the inmate/guardian angel cared about him? Did I turn away for a second and miss something? And I get that the husband didn't protect his wife, but it wasn't like he was off drinking with the buddies and ignored her call.
The cast is strong, the grimy setting/cinematography works well, I like the theme of vigilantism and it's entertaining for what it is, but it seemed like an incomplete movie. I must admit though, I didn't really think Eddie's son would get those shells!
