Fun book about the meaning of family and finding a place. Blunt execution and mystery, and I'm not really sure what the octopus was aside from a narrative deus-ex-machina to solve the mystery. Overall enjoyable if popcorn read

Anthology series of excellent short stories about attaining perfection or divinity. Each has a unique message to approach the same idea. Obviously the one that inspired a movie has the most conceptual exploration and abstraction from this idea, but the others are also very interesting reads.

Conceptually very interesting, with deep intrigue that builds throughout the book. The main character exudes a lot without dialogue, but does have an internal monologue that speaks to the reader which I find fascinating as a narrative device. Unfortunately I think the book is a little short and rushed for the big ideas it brings. Love the concept and execution, but could have used a little bit more time to explore those ideas.

Phenomenal character study about responses to trauma wrapped in a sci-fi mystery. Enjoyable both textually and subtextually. Excellent visual direction and motivated editing. Many stand out performances

Does a lot with few words. A lot of good implied story in a show-dont-tell way. Action is fun with unique set-pieces. Ending is a little abrupt but overall satisfying watch.
