One of the binge shows that is only good if you commit to watching the whole thing at once, otherwise you lose a LOT of investment in the characters. Its also really great to see that a toxic codependent relationship seen in the first season is actually called out like that in the second, very nice moments of character growth.
I do feel like the characters are more like real people with flaws and oversights. I think the inclusion of the Iranian supercop is a little ham-fisted, and the way he gets-got without any morally grey somewhat disappointing. Overall low recommend to someone who likes spy stuff and has free time.
Unique concept and initially interesting execution, bogged down by the main character re-learning the same lesson over and over. He does eventually learn, but then after he learns the story stops using the interesting mechanic. The writing and dialogue is awkward and stilted in the way that anime usually is, and the voice acting does its best to cover this but it can only do so much. Light recommend for someone who already is interested in isekai stories.
Overall disappointing serialization as an alternate story in the Duniverse. Watching this back to back with the movie throws in stark contrast how much more precise the direction and dialogue needs to be for a movie compared to a show. There is a lot of wasted time with Tell-Dont-Show in this show and its difficult because the movie is SO good at demonstrating rather than stating. I’m told many times what characters personality, then later when they are that personality it feels hollow. Although the ideas contained are very interesting, its very clumsy in execution.
Entertaining all the way through. Fun character dynamics at first that became cliche as the show went on. Extremely witty dialogue and writing, although used a little too much gag humor at times. Stunning fight visuals. Not sure what to say for editing, not intrusive at the least. Overall recommend.
Slow start but holds up surprisingly well for time travel show. Very clear story threads that are examined and detangled individually. Very good both as dub and sub. Strong recommend
